AM Practice
We will be moving to AM Practice next week. Please be on time. The PM practices on Tuesday and Thursday are make-ups please let Coach Chris know when you are planning on attending so he can have the appropriate number of coaches there.
Aberdeen @ BAAC
Our first Dual meet is this Saturday. You will need to be at the club at 6:40 AM for check-in warm-ups start at 7 AM the meet starts at 8 AM. We will have a three tiered check-in system. Older kids are asked to check-in during younger kids warm-ups so that the little ones can get checked in first.
The club has asked that you park in the back parking lot and use the entrance by Kid Sports. Remember you can’t get in until 6:40 am. We also must share the pool area with Aberdeen. There will be a limited number of chairs available so you may wish to bring your own. Do not remove all the chairs from the other team area. Ours will be on the far side of the pool. The upper-rec pool, instructional pool and baby pool are off limits. You should be supporting and cheering for your team mates when you are not swimming.
BAAC @ Valleybrook
On Wednesday we will be swimming Valleybrook at Valleybrook. Check-in time will be at 5 PM and warm-ups begin at 5:30 PM and the meet will begin at 6 PM. More details will be coming soon. Please remember to scratch by Monday at Noon.
A word on sportsmanship
One area this team has done very well with is sportsmanship. I would like that tradition to continue. A few things to that end; make sure that after your race you congratulate both swimmers on either side of you by shaking hands. Wait in the water in individual events for all swimmers to finish the race. Finally be supportive of all swimmers. Other coaches from other teams have commented on how well we do these things and it has been a great source of pride.
Make sure you cheer for your team mates in the water. We all work hard to be a part of this team. Every swimmer is important to the total team effort. With the new scoring system in place this year it will take 636 points to win a meet. No one parson can score them all. Everyone must contribute and do their part.
