First Meet Wrap-Up

Yes I know what a weird score….How does it happen? Well, we had a three way tie in the meet as well as a few other ties that resulted in this odd score. Enough lamenting about scores, let’s get to the good stuff.
Everyone swam well and the coaching staff is proud of the growth we have seen thus far. As always the coaching staff will select a few swimmers for their great effort and name them swimmers of the meet. This meet those swimmers are Nick Gerace who despite a rough start kept at it and improved his times. Nathan Ehrhardt who was a very vocal supporter of the whole team and was seen cheering for many team mates during the meet. And finally, Kaitlynn Davie who dropped a whopping 20 seconds in her 25 backstroke.
A note about relays
We had a few people leave this meet early without talking to a coach as a result we had three relays with three of the for swimmer’s ready to swim but couldn’t because they were missing a swimmer in one case after going through 5 swimmers who could have swam we found out they had left early too. Relay swimmers at the end of the meet will be posted by the conclusion of the breaststroke events. We post the first relay list as a courtesy to get ready for the meet but it often needs revision. SO please, even if you are not on a relay in the meet stay for the end. I know the last meet was a long one we had two large teams and it is our desire to get everyone to swim.

Valleybrook Meet
Wednesday we swim at Valleybrook. You need to be at Valleybrook at 5 PM for check-in
Warm-up starts at 5:30 PM and the meet starts at 6 PM. Directions are:
From US-1/BELAIR RD. 1.3 miles
Turn LEFT onto MD-152/MOUNTAIN RD. 1.3 miles
Turn RIGHT onto OLD JOPPA RD. 0.6 miles
Turn RIGHT onto JERUSALEM RD. 0.1 miles
Turn RIGHT onto VALLEYBROOK DR. 0.1 miles
The Address is 1810 Valleybrook Dr. Map It.
This meet will not run late since they have no lights on the deck so we must be done by dark. After the meet we will go to Dairy Queen in Hickory. All are welcome to come.
Inclement Weather Policy for swim meets.
Not often but occasionally we have a weather difficulty. We swim meets in the rain as long as it is not to bad but never in thunder and lightning. If a meet needs to be continued or made-up it will be done Monday night for Saturday morning meets and Thursday for Wednesday night meets. Usually Saturday meets are never a problem. Wednesday meets are the problem.
If a meet is cancelled early it must be done by 3PM if that is the case check the team website it will be posted there. I will also change my voice mail message on my cell phone, do not leave a message when checking on the status of the meet I will not return calls or answer them. If the decision is made after 3PM for some reason I will be at the pool and change my message to fit. Otherwise show up.
